Teamwork

No one is ever perfect in a relationship. I have to admit, there were times where I could have treated the person I was involved with better. I was a victim of letting my pride, ego, and selfishness get in the way of loving someone the way they deserved to be loved. While I have no regrets, there are definitely things I know I could have done differently when it comes to the relationships of my past.

In order to truly correct your faults, first come to the realization that you indeed have faults. When a relationship goes sour, understand that you played a part in it not working. It takes a joint effort for a team to be successful. Once it becomes one-sided, the clock starts counting down to the infamous statement “It’s not you, it’s me.”

Teamwork is essential and imperative. Don’t believe me? Just ask championship dynasties like the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. Do you think Michael Jordan would have six rings if Steve Kerr and John Paxson did not hit those big shots? Would Shaq and Kobe have beat the Sacramento Kings if it was not for Big Shot Bob’s clutch gene? (Do your research if the analogies I just mentioned didn’t register in your brain.) The answer to both of those questions is no. Teams depend on chemistry between one another to win and same goes for relationships. Put your pride aside and selflessly love the person your with. Maybe one you’ll be lucky enough to get a ring.
